What to do - blown engine

fairly certain, I didn't notice a crack looking at the head from the topside (still bolted on)... but I'm pretty sure it's done and if not cracked, at minimum scratched up pretty good from the valve rolling around in there - engine won't rotate one full revolution so something is jammed in the...

What to do - blown engine

checking around, seems it maybe possible to pickup a wrecker engine for $350-550 that supposedly has like 100K kms on it with a 6mth-year warranty? not sure how reliable the mileage numbers are though? I see some wreckers have compression figures and others don't - need to look that up the...

What to do - blown engine

Well, I had a bit of bad luck the other day with my 2000 mustang. Driving to work a valve spring broke and the valve dropped into the cylinder. Found the spring seat and valve retainer sitting in the head. Spark plug was mashed and I also thought that I saw some anti-freeze through the port...

brakes spongy after brake pad replacement (didn't open bleeders though)?

I bleed all the calipers on the weekend starting from the farthest from the MC (but not the MC itself). Well the fluid was pretty dirty and seemed to have a few minute bubbles... so a fluid change was a good thing but the brakes are still spongy for my liking. I'm fairly convinced now that...

brakes spongy after brake pad replacement (didn't open bleeders though)?

Not MC, pedal doesn't drop if it's held steady. I'll start by bleeding the system and changing the brake fluid. Just doesn't add up.

brakes spongy after brake pad replacement (didn't open bleeders though)?

I'm fairly new to mustangs and I had to do my first front pad replacement on my 2000 v6 yesterday night.. and now the brakes feel a bit spongy. It feels like air had gotten into the system but I did not open up the bleeder screws - I just used a C clamp to slowly push the pistons back into...

    Reverse Switch (backup lights)

No, not quite. With one of the tail lights connected, I get around .4v to ground from the black/pink while in reverse. Now if I disconnect the other taillight, then I measure 12 volts (circuit is not complete to ground). then if bypass the transmission switch, it all lights up properly...

    Reverse Switch (backup lights)

Thanks for the Welcome. Regarding the voltage measurement, I measured from the +12 reverse lead (black/pink wire) at the tail lamp connector (power side) to ground. I was still expecting to see ~+12 volts to ground with the bulb lit. I pulled the switch off and operated it manually and got...

    Reverse Switch (backup lights)

Just bought a 2000 Mustang this week and took it in for the safety test today. Well, she failed because the backup lights did not light up when shifting into reverse. So I took her home and started troubleshooting. To make a long story short, what I found is that if I jumpered the...
