How to modify for Road Racing

Sure, lots of people do. The whole autox thing is setup to allow you to run whatever car you have.

How to modify for Road Racing

Probably not. Although, if you are missing something then it's probably in the fit department and you won't find out about that until you start the install.

new rotors (not big brake kit)?

It depends on the pad you choose guys. Hawk makes everything from daily driver pads to full out race pads and a whole splew of stuff in between. Use the HPS (high performance street) pads on your DD car. They stop better than stock (slightly), don't make noise, won't eat rotors, and they're...

    Bang for buck. Long read

Gears will give you more of a seat of the pants difference but you'll need a tuner to recalibrate your speedo after the gear swap. If you add it up, most of the cost of a good CAI kit is the tuner anyway so if you're going to do gears you might as well just do it all.

    New Club in Joplin, MO.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let anyone in the Joplin, MO area know about the new club. We're up and running with a new website and are planning several things in the next few months including a weekend cruise, a trip to Hallett motor racing circuit, and a caravan to the Mid America Shelby meet in...

    GT-500 Rims to GT

+1 on the AM wheel quality, or lack there of. They're cheap for a reason. And don't worry about the extra weight, the profile and extra width will more than make up for the weight performance wise.

    Help, adjusting D-Specs

You tighten the tool down untill finger tight and then back it off a certain number of turns. Seven full turns back is full soft. Don't go past that. I think you'll find that two turns back is pretty close to the stock dampers.

Pedal Adjustment for Heel Toe braking

I had the same problem and good fluid and lines didn't help enough so I removed my clutch pedal cover, stacked it on top of the brake pedal cover, drilled three holes, and then bolted the two pedal covers together with some steel spacers from the hardware isle. It looks funky but it worked. If...

    Shocks and Suspension recommendations.

unless you are into racing on a track and you will actually adjust the shocks, I'd just stick to the fixed ones. Let's face it, most people are not going to stop every time they see a twisty stretch of road to adjust the dampers. You'll set 'em where you think they work the best and leave 'em...

Opinion on CDC Classic Chin Spoiler

Don't worry about a chin with a modest drop. I've had the CDC classic spoiler with Eibach pro's for a few years now without problems. You will have to be careful and steep driveways will have to be taken at an angle but it's doable.

    Mustang Madness??????

*****!!!!!!! Any word on a event next year? I called and cancelled a week before the event and they said it was no big deal but I'm guessing that that was the mood before they knew what was going down.

    Map light console needed

The hole is on top ( bottom?) between the map lights. I didnt think about covering it though. That's not a bad idea. Thanks guys, I can always count on Stangnet members for good advice.

    Map light console needed

Hey guys, does any one know where I can get a new overhead console for my '05. I drilled a couple of holes in the original for nitrous switches and now that I've pulled the nitrous out of the car, I'm getting tired of looking at the holes. I'm talking about the overhead plastic piece that holds...

    Mustang Madness??????

Well, I thought the cost was pretty good for a weekend at the road course. I pay $95 a day at Hallet so $200 for the weekend was fine. I think travel costs were the big one for everybody but there's nothing we can do about that. I REALLY wanted to attend but I just had too many things going...

    Mustang Madness??????

Hey guys, I was really disappointed that I couldn't make it to Mustang Madness at MAM this year but I was still looking forward to hearing how it went. After that weekend the thread just disappeared. Did ANYONE go? Was it a graveyard with just Khyron and Timeless dukin' it out by themselves? How...

    Window Tints

Never buy the pre cut stuff! It never works right. Buy the 3M brand window film (it's hard to beat), cut it a little big, and use LOTS of soapy water to apply it. That's what people usually screw up on, they're afraid to use too much water. If you want to make it really easy on yourself, go to a...

Opinions: Nitto NT01 or Hoosier R6

No personal experience with either but the R6 is THE tire of choise at Hallet. Literally half of the R compound tires out there are Hoosiers. Seems like the R6 would be the safe bet. Also, you might ask your dealer about it but I've heard that there are two different compounds available and with...

What TIRE PRESSURE do *you* run at road course events?

I don't change pressures during the day to keep an average. I set them cold in the morning and then adjust them in two psi increments during the day as I go to keep the handling where I want it. It's futile to try to keep them even after that because they never have a chance to cool all the way.

What TIRE PRESSURE do *you* run at road course events?

Of course, best tire pressures are going to vary with the tire make, size, ect. Most of the Stang drivers I run with agree that 30psi is a good place to start. On my Kumho Exsta MX's I run 30psi front/ 32psi rear (cold). I come off the track in the 37/38psi range but that's after a cool down lap...

    SHR Louvers Installed!

It could work. Cover the glass inside and out with duct tape first. That should catch the majority of it.
