    ford t-lok, 3.73, 4.10

Scrming is quite correct. Get the best shop you can find to get the gears installed, preferable a shop you can verify has done a lot of 7.5's and done them correctly. I took mine to a shop that is supposed to be one of best in the area and they still installed my gears wrong. They howl...

Weird Sound coming from beneath the hood.

To be honest I rarely use my A/C but I do occasionally use it and everything works fine. I don't think it's anything serious.

Weird Sound coming from beneath the hood.

I assume this happens when the A/C is on? I have a similar noise and had a hard time finding where it was coming from. For my car it was the compressor clutch engaging and disengaging about every 15 seconds or so. but since the compressor is near the bottom of the engine it was hard to pinpoint...

    Sway bars, LCA's, shifter

It's still hard get into 2nd and 3rd with the Hurst shifter though it does seem to be getting a little easier. I'm still getting used to it. I'm so used to how long a throw the old one had that I sometimes slam it into gear a bit harder than I should. I'm getting better with that. I just need...

    Sway bars, LCA's, shifter

I had all my parts installed yesterday. The Ford Racing sway bars definitely made a difference. The car is much more stable in cornering. It also exhibits a little less of a tendency to fish tail. Unfortunately I have rather sucky tires at the moment so it doesn't handle as well as it could. I...

is there an aftermarket shifter yet

the Hurst competition plus shifter is out and mine is on it's way at this very moment. I will be installing it next week along with some suspension mods and headers. I'll be sure to report how it performs.

    Rygen break's into the 8's on 1/8

Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the track in the not too distant future. In a couple of weeks I'll be getting a few mods done to my car. Nothing major like nitrous or other forced induction. Just some suspension improvements (sway bars), sound improvements (headers), better tires and...

V-6 5 speed drive line clunk

I noticed the same problem with mine as well as having a slight whine. You are probably right about what it is. I took mine in a couple of times to a couple of dealerships and got the same response. My car has 22,000 miles on it and no problems.

    Arrrgghh!! Stone hit the windshield!

I feel for ya. About a month ago I was trying to merge onto I495 form I66 and just as I looked to the right to check the lane I was merging into somebody ahead of me slammed on their brakes bringing all the cars to a stop just in time for me to see when I looked back. Needless to say my poor car...

    Question for rygenstormlocke

Thanks. I'll definitely be taking my car in over the next month to have some work done. Gears, LSD, suspension stuff and maybe even upgraded brakes. One quick question. I noticed in your sig that you have PHP Pulley listed. I know a few others on the forums have gotten but have since put the...

    255/50/17 tires question

Thanks for all the help. I will definitely be getting 255's in another few weeks.

    Question for rygenstormlocke

A while back you had your car dyno tuned at Excessive and had some concerns about how they did your dyno, in particular that they used the tailpipe probe which is not the most accurate. My question is do you feel they did a good job on the tune or would you recommend going elsewhere to get my...

    255/50/17 tires question

I'm planning on going with 255/50/17 tires all the way around so as to keep the same tire diameter as stock. Has anyone put this size tire on their Stang and if so are there any clearance issues up front? I'm planning on getting the Bridgestone Potenza RE750's. They have the best traction...

    S197 4.0L V6 - Top Speed ?

I've gotten up to 105. I was surprised at how quickly it reached it. After a few more mods this spring it'll be even quicker.

    Auburn Differential

I wish I could remember the web site I read that the Truetrac doesn't support traction control. I've spent the last couple of days looking for it again. I'm going to write Tractech and ask them to make sure. If I can be used on a Mustang with traction control it seems to be the thing to get.

    You guys are lame!

I admit that I do a lot of lurking also as I'm new to the Mustang world, got mine back in March. I like to see what others have done mod wise before doing anything to mine. I haven't done much to mine yet. I do plan on taking mine to the track possibly this spring and definitely summer. I'll...

    Auburn Differential

I will be changing my rear end gears this spring and will be putting in a differential of some sort. I mostly hear about the Ford Racing and Trutrac differentials but no body really mentions the Auborn. I've done a little research and it does seem to be a good differential. Unfortunately I can't...

    Stupid, Stupid, Stupid

I know the feeling. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give my car a thorough cleaning, including underneath the spoiler. In order to get under the spoiler I figured it would be easiest to hold the trunk open just far enough to see the under side of the spoiler without craning my neck...

    v6 mustang auto vs hyundai?

It's getting a bit ridiculous IMOO when every little econobox on the planet has a supped up version that's as fast as many muscle cars. Even the Civic has a version now with 197hp. It wouldn't surprise me to see a 300 hp Kia. Maybe Chrysler should put out a 100 hp Viper that gets 35...

    Procharger vs Vortech

As for lowering the compression ratio, from what I understand that has to do with increased risk of premature detonation, which is directly related to increased heat. Both the higher compression ratio and forcing more air into the cylinder will increase the heat inside the cylinder. Since the...
