Electrical 94 Gt Vent Switch Stuck On Defrost

The default position for the airflow is out the defrost, so when you have a broken vacuum line to the selector, you get the default. It's a very small hard plastic line that runs across the firewall from the vacuum tree in front of the brake booster over near the heater core I believe. Usually...

Engine 1995 5.0 Installed New Heads Wont Run Right Blows White Smoke Runs Rich

I actually had a very similar situation one day after I'd done similar work to mine the first time. It started blowing white smoke out the exhaust and sounding like it'd lost oil pressure (it didn't, I had installed an actual gage by that point). Rockers were rattling and it was running really...

    Strange Squeal on Engine Shutdown

Check your PCV valve. My cousin's did that after he re-rung it. It would scream like a tight bearing when it was running. We did everything, checked all the vacuum lines, checked for weird exhaust leaks, pulled the tranny and started it on his lift, nothing changed it. Hot or cold, didn't...

Should test fitting longtube headers really be this difficult?

Maybe this didn't make sense, but I'm saying you need 5/16" of the threads to engage the holes as the minimum, but 1/2" would be best. If you have a 3/4 long bolt and 3/8 thick flanges, you should be ok.

Should test fitting longtube headers really be this difficult?

It looks ok, but aluminum is soft. Ideally you need 1-1/2 times the thread diameter for length of engagement. I wouldn't trust it at any less than 1 times the diameter in a pinch. Scott

    95 Cobra: What's This Wire??

Maybe it won't reach the positive on the battery, but it may reach the hot lug on the power distribution box / engine compartment fuse box.

trickflow efi street burner intake manifold hp gain?

That's nearly the same way I started, but I used 24 # injectors & 70 mm throttle body. It'll sound and feel different, but I doubt it'll make much more power because you're not getting rid of the real bottleneck of the stock heads. Basically, the larger throttle body, injectors, and meter just...

    Quick connect problems

That's because it's a quick connect, not disconnect. :rlaugh: They snap together in no time!! You're right though, the simple plastic ring style are the easiest to use and seem to work the best. I have a couple of the service tech style from Ford, they're a spring-loaded clamshell that...

Ideas for replacing the rubber p/brake 'seal'?

Well, turns out the weatherstrip adhesive is pretty handy stuff! It worked great, and looks a lot better than the old, torn stocker did. On a side note, is there any way to adjust the brake assembly's location side-to-side? I tried to loosen the bolts and leverage the thing over, but I didn't...

Ideas for replacing the rubber p/brake 'seal'?

I thought about that, but budget limitations cramped that idea. I pulled the old rubber out, clipped the tabs I could get to, and got the retainer out. Then I cleaned it all, used weatherstrip adhesive on the rubber to plastic surfaces, and two-part quick set epoxy to bridge the openings that...

Ideas for replacing the rubber p/brake 'seal'?

I bought one from LRS and now that the console and old rubber are out, I'm not sure how to get the new one one. I can dremel the plastic welds and pull the ring off, then put the new rubber seal on... but does anyone have a better suggestion than using weather strip adhesive? That's about the...

    Racing Shop Vacation

Please tell me you rubbed some good luck onto all of the 5 cars you saw in the shop!!! Been a Martin fan for about 20 years, and it kills me to see him running in the middle of the pack all season. Looks like a great trip, hope to do something like that one day myself. Scott

Out of car engine pic request

I'm not a big Dodge fan, but I love this pic! Any idea what it actually was based off? 413 or 440 I suppose? Scott

How Did You Torque Your Driveshaft?

I used a box end wrench on the head, and slipped another box end wrench over the open end of that wrench as a cheater bar. Works to break them loose the first time, and tighten the crap out of them ever since. :D

The ultimate SN95 5.0 exhaust thread

I've got Mac 1-3/4 long tubes, cheapie ebay short x-pipe, and stainless Magnaflows / catback that was originally on an earlier Fox (maybe 85-86). Other than having to make two hanger rods for the tip/tailpipe ends it slid right in. The hangers I made were just scrap stainless rod bent like a...

    Ordered a TV tonight

We bought a 50" LG plasma before Thanksgiving, got it bundled with the wall mount and a wireless media box for like $900 from ABC Warehouse. I've been really happy with it, haven't noticed anything burning into the screen, even when I've played games like COD where the map stays in one spot for...

Noise & Vibration out of T5 in low speed/high torque situations

What about the heat shields on the cats? Assuming it doesn't have an O/R pipe on it. Scott

Noise & Vibration out of T5 in low speed/high torque situations

Are you sure it's not just from lugging the engine? Every stick shift I've driven would create some pretty harsh shudder / groan / rattle sounds if you lugged it. I know my car does, and that's with 3.73s too.
