    Auto Tranny Service

You are being lied to. First, the transmission does not need any service. Second, the correct drain and fill method is via the drain plug on the bottom of the pan. I build the 5R55S every day as an OEM supplier. For my car, I'll change the fluid at 100,000 miles. This is a new design, using...

    Tranny service question

The 5R55S does not require any service unless it is driven under severe conditions. There is no dipstick and flushing does require a special adapter on the pan. My company remanufactures this unit for Ford. It is a very rugged unbit that was derived from the 5R55N used in the Jag. Sealed...

    Alignment shop

Talk to memebers of the nearest mustang club. There are shops that can do the work. The method is Lug Centric. In my area, the Midas Muffler shop did it correctly. It took a couple of hours and it was well worth it.

    Classic or Recreational Auto insurance....

I have classic car insurance that is for the "stated value" of the car. I had to shoot a lot of pictures, promise to drive less than 2500 miles per year and show proof of another car for my daily driver. Total bill is $121 per year for my '67. I have yet to exceed 1000 miles per year since it...

I ran new wiring for my speakers and power. You never really know if the wiring you have today has been modified in the past.

    Im fighting a mighty war...

I have a redfire V6 as my daily driver. I want a GT but I cannot have one. I chose to leave it stock and put the money in the bank. If I was going to upgrade, I would get the GT. The trade in value of a modified V6 4 years from now will be low.

The reverse full manual valve body is not designed for street use or with a street torque converter. It is for very high revving drag cars.

Is the Pony Package worth it?

I like the pony package. Kinda reminds me of my other pony.

    Spark Plugs

I'm sure there is some difference but would you even notice it? Timing, carb, fuel quality, exhaust, general engine condition, coil, points, wires are all significant variables in performance. I put my money into intake and exhaust as well as electronic ignition.

Dealer tells me I have to use Techron?

Get that in writing from Ford. Service reps are not fuel engineers. If it was a design flaw, it would show up in a lot of cars and a TSB or recall would be issued.

    5r55...?

The 5R55S for the V6 and the V8 are similar but not identical. The cases are different , the torque converters are different, and the clutch packs are slightly different. Same goes for the old C4, A4LD, AOD, and FMX. In general, V8 transmissions have more plates in the clutch pack and...

    Need A/T cooler specs.

Why do you want to add a cooler? The 5R55S is designed to function best between 140 and 200 degress. Mercon V ATF does not exhibit any breakdown until 220 degrees. If you must add a cooler, mount it in series with the OEM cooler. The 16,000 lb GVW model is fine.

You may all openly mock me starting now. Or "how I blew close to 2 grand for nothing

where can I get a 67 fastback vin checked?

If you are certain the VIN is really for that car, contact Marti Auto Works and get a report. The price is about $17. It will tell you when it was built, the dealer it was sold to, and all of the original options. I wish I had done that before I bought my car.

    '06 tire pressure gauges

The system will be mandatory for all vehicles in 07 or 08. The sensor is mounted in the rim. Changing tires is no big deal but changing the wheels could be fun. I guess it depends on how the sensors are mounted to the wheel.

    Transmission Fluid Type

TYPE F. However, if it has been rebuilt or remanufactured recently and all of the seals and all of the friction plates were replaced, you can use DEXRON III or MERCON. Do not use MERCON V, Chrysler 7176 ir Chrysler ATF+4. Type F is cheap and easy to find.
