My Big Block Fox Finished Product...56k Warning

I should have clarified, the aluminum one in the pictures when you are setting the motor in the car. The problem with the pan is it is a poor design. It will leave the pickup dry under hard acceleration . . . and even on something like your setup has a chance of getting some air in it.

My Big Block Fox Finished Product...56k Warning

what water pump is on there? also, did you use the frpp swap pan? They are very bad about leaving the pickup dry as stock. Seen several torched bearings come through kaase's and they all had the frpp pan.

    Why the "alphabet" hate?

the letter cams do well with 90s tech considering thats when they were designed. The e-cam works great with ported e7s/gt40s and a cobra/explorer intake . . . f-cam works great with blowers or a turbo or two . . . they serve their place and not to mention can be had for around $100

    which turbo do I choose?

all I can tell you is that on 14lbs with a H1E off a backhoe, 120k mile stock 5.0 shortblock, home ported e7s, weiand x-celerator, f-cam, t5, 1 5/8" shorty hedmans and a 3.5" downpipe it made 505rwhp at 5700 and 550rwtq at 3600. I never took off the final dyno sheet but heres the one I used to...

    which turbo do I choose?

huh? The compressor map out there for the H1E is literally almost the same as a 62-1. the 21cm^2 ended up being right at a .96 a/r . . . I am building a 466 with a Holset ht60 and it has a 98mm exhaust exducer and comes out to a 1.32 a/r . . . granted some are big, but the holsets for...

    which turbo do I choose?

To the OP: It does sound like you need to do some reading on theturboforums you could do that on a bone stock 5.0 with a turbo kit easy like stated, the most common setup is two thunderbird turbo coupe turbos. Price is anywhere from $80-200 depending on the shape. The best...

    valve springs

check the spring rate on your stock springs. If they still have life in them you should be fine . . . I've seen stock springs run b cams, even a f.

    3 angle valve job

dang, must be nice to be livernois . . . not sure what a good valve job goes for, the old stone method is usually $80-100 around here. Surfacing/milling goes for about the same amount. friend of mine has a serdi but I'll have to ask how much he charges everyone else. if you get a good valve...

Looking into UTI... any opinions welcome...

Lots of good advice in this thread. UTI/Wyotech are overrated in my opinion. The dealership option has been explained and I ended up going to a local technical college to head in the racing career direction. Learned a lot, and realized now that I don't want to travel NEARLY as much as the...

    what makes e6 heads bad?

maybe $50 and the only reason that would be is because you would have $50 in milling them and cleaning them. you can get stock e7 heads for free or dang near it.

    what makes e6 heads bad?

if you take the time to shape the chambers the actually turn out pretty good. I remember the valves being .100+ higher in the head. Maybe .150"? The ports are almost exactly like an e7 but you could run a bigger cam with all the PTV clearance.

Cam break in. What's the right way?

You shouldn't have any problems with those provided you use the break-in lube, ZDDP additive and proper RPM procedures but what cam are you running? Kind of small springs unless the cam is pretty small.
