Thanks everyone for your help. My buddy the mechanic came over today. All he had to do was hook up a jumper cable from the negative post of the battery to the metal backplate of the solenoid, and the car cranked and caught right away. He says "just like I thought, bad grounds". He's a good guy...

The solenoid makes a buzzing sound. Not like a low buzz, but a loud zzzzzzzzzzzt. The starter does not crank at all. I'll check the grounds out with the ohm setting of the meter, thanks.

Jumping the neutral safety switch made the buzzing sound that it makes when the key is put to crank. I get continuity from the block to the body of the car, and I get continuity from the hot wire to the starter and the intake, so the grounds are fine along with the starter wire. Battery voltage...

I dropped my tank and replaced the pump with a rubber hose. Reaches down to where the pump pickup used to go, and has a filter on the end. The other end of the fuel line is hooked to the mechanical pump on the motor.

Might just need new gaskets. If you need an oil pan, you can get them almost anywhere, be it used from a scrap yard or brand new from almost any parts store.

You can leave the harness in, but it will be a mess. Take the computer out of the passenger side kick panel, then pull the harness out through the firewall. Then all you need is one 12v wire to power your ignition. I did the 2.3L to carbed 351W swap, so if you need any more help, let me know.
