Real Quick, not to swift r we?
Mmm.. I'm not a kid, have two children, An '01 Cobra, '05 GT, '79 Malibu with a 383 stroker (which I put together myself) and an '87 GN which is my current project car. Should I list my Daily Drivers now,
At street night, my friends stock LS1 ran 13.2 then 13.0 flat. Well, it did have a K&N filter, but other then that it's factory with 102,000 miles. DAMN!!!
Don't forget Mike's '98 T/A running 12.9 with just slicks. And, his car's an automatic  . I was there that night and most LS1's were low 13's easy.
Ran into a '98 Trans Am (base not Ram-Air) with some kid at the helm (pretty scary). He reved so I figured what the hell. We went at green and I pulled 1/4 car length before 2nd, while in third though the Big Pig Trans Am started pulling. It seemed like as the mph went up, the T/A kept...
That's funny becuase my friend's '99 Trans Am ran 12.8 with just an air lid and his cars an automatic.
He gives it half gas on take off, then floors it which is what most guys do to mainatin traction resulting in run high 12's in Trans Am's and Camaro's.
The Trans Am's are low 13's right off the showroom floor. It's going to take a 97GT alot of mod's to get even near that.
If you thought that was fast, wait till after 100mph when that Trans Am starts really pulling like hell...
Most Stock LS1's here at E-Town are in the low 13's. A few auoto's with crappy 2.73 rears were hitting a LS1 slow time of 13.5 . Again, most are low 13's right off the showroom floor.
Also remember, at the end of the quartermile the LS1 really shines & is going to pull like mad. It's...
