I have a 164 tooth bell in mine with a windsor, you dont have to go with the pinto or mustang ll bell. you can also get the larger flywheel and plate adapter kit and run the big v8 bell then converter choices are easier and cheaper
you get to them from inside and they are hard to get to. take the drivers seat out. and I think there is a brace you have to remove under the dash. I am 6'2" and it was a bitch. might be easier to remove the dash top and go from the top.
how about a coupe ? are they lighter. I have one 351 windsor. sound deadner removed. and I am going to buy glass bumpers because mine look like a fat ladys ass. I found them at mas for 75.00 each. I also removed all the air stuff and heater blower etc. manual steering and brakes. weld...
you can go through the fenders too. I have an air blower attachment for the compressor that has a small tube that fits between the grates on the cowl and blow like hell.
ok I looked at the other thread. that adapter would work instad of buying the coupler from the manual car but does not affect the length. the lengths are the same. buy that part or the one I did and you are set, oh also install new rack bushings while it is apart
I did mine all you need is the coupler from a manual car. and that cost me 50.00 from e bay. the shaft should be the same length . the housing on the power unit is longer making the shaft look shorter unless I missed something. mine works great,I did it for weight reduction and clearence for my 351
I got mine running finally after spending every spare second for a month working on it. my headers do not have nearly that many welds on them. cut one tube on the drivers side and added 2 peices I will take some pics before I rip it all back apart because of low oil pressure.
sea foam is a great additive probably wont cure your current problem, but is excellent at removing carbon deposits from your valves and combustion chamber,
I am finishing up my 351 swap project and want to upgrade my alternator, and wanted to use the ford 3g style. also eliminating the regulator. has anyone done this or have a wiring diagram telling how to hook up the wires,I did this on my merkur xr4ti and it worked great. the stock alt that is on...
ok I got the headers on. I had to modify one of the tubes to go around the strut bar that holds the lower a frame in place it was one of the tubes that comes out so it was not bad. I ordered one u bend tube the same size from summit. used my sawzall to cut then mig welded the peice or 2 peices...
air shocks ? come on guys buy a new set of rear springs or the right wheels, air shocks ruin the ride and the car wont hook, it is not the right way, ok I understand if its a money issue, but I have to say air shocks and shackles are bad mmkk
shackles are for ***s, I roll the fender lip with a hammer. tried a bat that sucked, it helps to cut the inner lip every 6 inches or so with a sawzall then it will roll right up out of the way just dont get carried away I have 265/50/15 on 8 inch welds and have not rolled the fender lips on this...
