That would work great! If you could email it to my screen name at gmail, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Very nice! If you don't plan on making more of the bushings, any chance of sharing the solid model? I'm really interested in putting a set of these on!

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

A bunch of super-bright LEDs, some step-down resistors, and some diodes. I honestly don't know which values of anything I used since I built them about 4 or 5 years ago. I bought all of the leds from theledlight.com though. If I were going to re-make them now, I'd probably do it a...

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

I can pretty much guarantee that kit is WAY cheaper than it would cost to put a decent set together yourself. Granted it doesn't use even close to the same number of LEDs as I did, but I'd guess I had about $150 just in parts, (super-bright LEDs were/are pretty expensive), plus the countless...

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

I just went with the second type. I really didn't want to attract any more attention than I needed to. I still have the car, but it's up on jack stands right now while I'm waiting for new control arms to show up. Once I get those on, I need to take the car out to get some pics for my...

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

I finally logged back in today after a few years and had 8 PMs from people about these. Apparently I don't have any kind of email notification turned on, so sorry about that. I updated the first post to include what I believe are the original pics.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

Yeah, as of right now, I finished the other one, but when I lit them up side by side, they were different colors. Apparently there are lots of different colors of red LEDs, so my new supplier is trying to match some up for me. I'll be sure to post pictures when I get things finished up. I'd...

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

No, still not finished. Still waiting on LEDs from NV. I'm glad I'm not getting paid to do this. Somebody would be getting mad about all these delays. :bang:

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

Yeah, those are the exact ones I was using. Parts Express finally (After 1.5 weeks of waiting) informed me they aren't getting any more of them, so I had to order them elsewhere. Seems that the 2200mcd ones are exactly the right brightness for me. Once I finish these, I may build some for a...

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

Just as an update... the place I had been buying my LEDs ran out of them, and will no longer stocking that exact part anymore, so I have to mail-order them for almost the same price. I ordered 150 more of them yesterday, so I should have them, and get all 3 pieces finished by the middle of next...

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

No relays needed... At full brightness all 3 pieces will draw less than 1 amp.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

For any of you ready to attempt this yourselves, but not really familiar with LEDs... the ones I used are over 2000mcd in brightness and have a 45 degree viewing angle. Regular LEDs are only a hundres mcd or something, so make sure you don't get the wrong stuff.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

I have 18 sets of 5. Each set of 5 has it's own resistor. Once I make sure everything works fine with no issues, I'll give some more details.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

There is a 2V drop across each LED at 20mA. You can wire 1-6 in series if you want, you just have to have the appropriate resistor to take care of that excess voltage. I was actually thinking I may have to do that for the bases. :D

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

Just using resistors. I have no idea what value yet though. I just put a whole bunch of resistors in series and parallel until it was at the brightness I wanted. I'll get my Fluke out one of these days and check it. Has anybody ever seen blank bases for 3157 bulbs? I'd like to run the wires...

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

Once I get them in the car and make a few hard launches and abuse them a bit, I might consider selling schematics, or complete assemblies. I wouldn't be too happy if I started selling things and they burnt out, or solder joints broke or whatever.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

I would imagine it's not a huge deal to make them for any year really. I'd be a little hesitant for 96+ since the lenses are so transparent. You'd be able to see the circuitboard too easily... might look kinda tacky.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

hm... I see them fine, but they might be in my cache. My host seems to go down quite a bit, so if they aren't there now, they'll be there a little later. Just keep checking the thread I guess.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

I'd be willing to sell the things, but I'd have to get 180-200 bucks for a 2-piece set to make it worth my while.

My LED taillight panels... which version should I use??

Yeah, you can actually buy the exact boards I used at radio shack. They're 4 bucks a piece... biggest ones they sell.
