Just recently bought a 01 cobra and it is still under factory warnt. My clutch pedal was extreamly stiff and when in traffic awfull to stand.Took to my local dealer and they told me they would have to put in a new pressure plate and pedal assembly.while they have it apart I am having them put a clutch pad in since my car has Kook headers (full)and high flow catted short h pipe and steeda catback. They arnt charging me labor on the clutch just part cost I was wondering is this a odd problem too have? The car has 21,000 miles and is spotless and in perfect shape, lowered,cc plates,5%tint,denscharger cold air kit.I asked dealer to inspect they said it was in perfect shape other than this prob.should I be cocerned?thanks for inf.
Welcome to the 01 clutch/tranny club... A common issue for 01's are the throw out bearing and also notchy shifting when cold... Dealer replaced mine at no cost parts or labor when under warranty.. And I still got the annoying throw out bearing noises... Dealer told me the only true fix for the 01 clutch issue is to go aftermarket . He suggested centerforce and a price of 800 parts and labor.. whateva...oh well..
Juast got it back dealer replaced bearing, pedal, quadirant, and pressure plate I also paid for a new clutch pad(no labor charge) seems to be real smooth and quiet shifts like a dream hope she last
