I just got the metco 4lb lower and I am going to put it on. I was told that it will give me around 15lbs boost is their any recommendations about upgrading the car cooling system because the motor is going to run hotter. Thanks Uncle meat for answering my first question.

get a bigger exchanger and a icebox....also....port your blower if you have not. A ported blower cuts down on released heat and allows more effeciency

You are having the car tuned in conjunction with this 4lb lower, right?

    Pulley

    Howdy Ya'll.

Are you changing the upper as well? I just piked up a 2004 Cobra redfire bonestock 4000 miles. I want to go with the 2.93 upper and the 4lbs lower. My questions is this. IF the 4lbs lower give you 15PSI what should 2.93 upper and 4lbs lower give you boost wise?

Sorry. Not trying to Hijack your thread.

A 4lb lower is only good for 13.2 psi. add a 2.93 upper to that and now you're at 16.2 psi. If I were going to go with that combo there would have to be a BUTTLOAD of supporting mods to accompany it! Better cooling would be an absolute must because you'll be heat soaked almost immediately! At that ratio you will have a 41% overdrive on the Eaton and you will be spinning it at almost 20,000 RPMS!!!!

Like Meat said...with that combo you need to port the blower or all you are going to do is heatsoak the bad boy quickly...go with a 2.93 upper and see how it feels...then decide if the lower is the right thing for you. If you do decide to go with a lower you may also need a s!@t load more mods than just cooling stuff...you may need a new MAF, BAP, possibly injectors, all cars are different. A buddy of mine needed all that with just a 2.76 upper. Even a 2.93 upper on these and the snake will feel like a completely new animal.:nice: Edit: I just read this again and I made a mistake. He pegged the MAF with just the 2.76, after he ported and did a lower he needed the rest...my bad:(
