I wanted to know what would be better to go with for example the steeda 2.76 upper or go with the metco 4lb lower. what would you guys prefer and if their is any performance differences. Thanx
A 2.76 upper will give you approximately 15.2 psi where a 4lb lower will make about 12.4 psi so you'll see bigger gains from the 2.76 of course. You would need a bigger upper idler if you went with the 2.76 to help prevent belt slip. The problem with the lowers is that they are more difficult to install than an upper and they cause more than just the blower to spin faster, they also increase the alternator RPM's and can wear it out quicker. They do make oversize alternator pulleys to compensate for this. Unless your Eaton is ported I suggest you go with a 2.93 upper, anything smaller than that will cause heat soak rather quickly and will require additional supporting mods. The Steeda pulleys are okay, but most people prefer Billetflow. U.M.
3.1 upper/6# lower I just sold my 2.93 to get this for my ported blower....better belt wrap= more torque.
+1 That is the best pulley combo out there. You get zero belt slip and it produces some great torque.
what if you got a larger intercooler and tank.? would that be ok.? what if you only stuck your foot into it occasally? not all the time ,would it heat soak? i just got the E option kit from rpm outlet,2.76 pulley does the sct scanner come with the tune for pulley swap in it ? or got to upload it . thanks .. i got lots of parts sitting by me.need to know?
