I have a question. I am debating on whether to get and 04 Mach or an 04 cobra. I was wondering what everyone is getting for their mileage for your cobras. I was also wondering are there any aftermarket parts that improve MPG and if so how much do they improve them. I will buy the cobra if i can improve the MPG because i love both cars and the Mach is a better daily dirver. Thanks

Eh, you're sorta SOL if gas mileage is a major factor in purchasing either 'stang. Sure you can get decent gas mileage if you stay out of the throttle and short-shift it all the time, but what's the fun in that?

I managed to squeeze almost 24MPG on the highway from my Cobra. I had to drive it like I was riding on eggshells though... I was shifting at 1850RPM when the idiot shift light told me to! No full throttle blasts, hell no 1/4 throttle blasts for that matter!!!! I had to baby the snot out of it to get that kind of mileage...

COBRA90GT is correct.... if you are looking for better MPG out of a Cobra or Mach you're shopping for the wrong kind of car... Get the 6 banger if you're concerned about gas mileage.

If you keep the car bone stock and keep your foot out of it, 17MPG is no problem at all! It's also NO FUN AT ALL!

    MILEAGE???? WITH A COBRA SVT???

Uncle meat & Dr. Wu are right on! If you want GAS mileage a COBRA isn't the car for you. I remember a guy who bought my last Offshore Cat with twin Alumn block 572 chevy's and 1471 Blowers. He wanted to know if he could run all weekend on 190 gallons of fuel. When I told him 190 gallons for the Morning wake-up ride he almost died. He still bought it and the worst gas day he has ever had was three tanks at 190 gallon each in ONE DAY! If you want excitement and something to get youre YAYA'S on it's gotta burn gas and the more fuel the Faster you'll go.

Good Luck and you can't go wrong for the Money spent.
