I am ready to say goodbye to my stock 98 wheels...I've never been happy with the "skinny" tire appearance the rear quarter panels create. I've been thinking about some Saleen replica 18x10's or maybe some Cobra replica 17x10.5's. My concern is the wheels running too close to my exhaust on the driver's side. I like the real 95 Cobra R's...but I am thinkin I want to run with 295's rear and 255 or 265's in the front. Anybody been through this dilema? Please share your thoughts...thanks!

I had a 95 gt mustang with cobra R 17X10.5" in the back that never gave me any trouble at all. In all the romping around I did in that car, there was never any clearance issues. It's possible your exhaust could be different, but there is always wheel spacers as well that will give you additional room. You shouldn't have any problems.

I've got real '95 R's on my '96 cobra, with 285/40 tires, and it fits fine. I mean, it's a little close, but it seems to fit.

I think our cars are the same underneath---I've got a '97 Cobra. I'm running 17X10.5's with no problems ever. I believe I've read that you can actually go up to a 315/35 tire with this rim and be OK.
