How tight of a fit is a 351C or 351W in a 1966 Coupe with a 200cid. I don't want to have to modify the shock towers.

    Thanks for your help

you won't have to modify the shock towers, but if you're moving up from a 200 you will need the following and then maybe some more stuff.

5 lug rear end, if you have 4 lug then you need to upgrade, and you might as well go with a 9" to begin with instead of getting an 8" and the replacing it later.

V-8 Spindles. the spindles ont he v-8 cars are diffrent, you'll need to pick up a set.

new brakes and wheels on all four corners.

if you have a c4 you'll need to take it in and have it upgraded to handle the 8 (or just get a used one)

new springs, for the heavier engine.

    motor mounts

probably a bigger radiator, the one that was in my 6 cyl car was pathetic.

throttle linkage for the v-8 is diffrent than it is for the 6 cyl.

    did i miss anything guys?

upgrading to v-8 gear isn't difficult, it just takes time and money.

I'm going to do a 6 - 8 swap too. There's a thread in the classic talk forum with FAQs in it. This is one of the topics.

    DukeGnarley, you missed:
    new exhaust manifolds, pipes, mufflers
    new fan and shroud
    new shocks
    wiring loom for a V8
if you upgrade suspension to 5 bolt - new rims

It's pretty big and I'm sure I'm missing more.
