i realize this is the wrong forum, but i just know you guys better then i do the strange, and foreign, 6 cylinder forum. anyway, i have a chance to pickup a 1980 6 cylinder in decent condition cheap. how are these engines? dogs? thanks.
engines bad, i had one not bad for a putter car. but if in good condition and cheep get it. the older fox's with 4 head lights are sweet!
yeah i know, i love those, i wish i could (read: I could, i know its possible) get those suckers on my 88. so retro. thanks for your quick response
I believe a few of the guys over on the foureyedpride.com forums could provide some good insight on this one.
If its a 1980 I bet it's got the old 3.3L straight six in it. I think they made about 90 hp or so, I don't know much about them. Crappy thing about those cars is that if you want to put any other engine in them, you have to change the k-member.
If you want performance from your I6 then try here. http://fordsix.com/forum/ AzCoupe is the guy yu want to talk to. Mustang Six is the site owner. This is the Ford Six Performance website. There are several guy there who have Fox body inlines. One of the guys has a Ford Six Performance Parts store where you can get cams, headers, Australian heads, etc. Mu 80 Mustang is a I6 car but I have a turbo 2.3L that no one would buy unless I gave it away so I decided to keep it and have enough parts to finish it as a turbo car, otherwise I would keep my I6. The motor is bulletproof except for the metal shim head gasket. They have seven main journals and with forged pistons, ARP bolts, and balancing they can rev to 7,000rpm. Low end torque is their specialty.
sorry about the info on the motor mods.i had no idea that there were parts out for the I6.hope you can find what your looking for!
