My son and I started a new project working on his first mustang. It is a 1992 2.3 LX. I have battled the check engine light for 2 months now. My final fault is KOEO FC 126 MAP sensor out of range. Any tips on what other owners had with this fault? What is the engine module looking for when this fault sets? The fault sets right on start up even after the faults are cleared. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards, B

It's actually looking at the Barometric pressure sensor. It's basically a MAP used to reference atmospheric pressure rather than manifold pressure.

On the firewall behind the engine just about dead center you'll see a small black module on a bracket. At the bottom it'll have an electrical plug and a small stem. The stem is a cover over the nipple where a vacuum hose would connect if it were a MAP sensor. That's your Baro (or BAP)
