1993 Cobra A9L Swap

I am currently running a 100 shot on my car (1993 Cobra). I got to talking to some buddies last night and they told me to swap a A9L for my current stock computer. Is this a good idea? Also, is it an easy swap as in unplug the stock one and plug in the new one or is other stuff required?
