Hello everyone, I picked up a 97 Cobra today and was told by the seller that the car did this.
It drives terrific, has 142000 on it. When I brake hard and soft to come to a stop, the engine dies. It starts right back up though. It doesnt happen all the time.
I was also told it does not have the speedo sensor plugged in. Is there any relation? Where does a Cobra newbie start with this? Thanx, glad to be in the club.

So there is a search button.. Okay, I compiled a short list of the cause of this "Common problem." Like I said, Im new to allllll this mod motor stuff.
It is either, IAC valve, Brake pressure fuse (Or other fuse), or get a Ford reflash SSM-17542.
That;s all I could find on Stangnet. Are these the fixes, and are there any more solutions through time and trial I could try? Thanx.

Are there any vacuum leaks? Is the car's computer throwing any codes? You can also try cleaning the MAF and IAC to see if that helps if the above check out ok.

When you are braking "hard" can you feel the brake pedal pulsating at all?

No pulsating, just goes dead, like when power is off.
