Our recent thunderstorms in the Washington area took out my practical daily driver (killed by a tree). So I am looking at buying a new vehicle which has me parting with my 1998. I took pictures yesterday so I wanted to get it out there and gauge interest. Details to follow later today. Feel free to PM me with any questions in the mean time.

Regards,
Marvin

Details as promised.

I don’t have to sell the car and am very reluctant to do so but i'd also feel bad making this my daily driver. I purchased this vehicle new in 1998 and have had it ever since. The vehicle has never been in any accidents but keep it mind it does have its original paint so there are blemishes on the bumpers and leading edge of the hood from normal driving. I can provided the VIN to anyone who would like to run a carfax which will show to be clear.

As you can see I bought this as a V6 and in 2001 after having approx 40,000 miles (just out of ford warranty) I swapped in a 1998 cobra DOHC V8 along with a T45 transmission. The swap is entirely 1998 spec (PCM, harness, cooling system, etc). The engine that was swapped in had approximately the same mileage which was convenient and I was able to swap its Cobra instrument cluster at the same time. So the 105,000 miles is accurate on both the vehicle and the engine.

This Mustang still turns heads and the engine runs strong. I am hoping to get $8,900 but am open to any reasonable offers.

I've been asked to list flaws by some prospective buyers. Please keep in mind that I am a bit OCD.

Paint/Exterior:
- There are a couple of small dents on the drivers side door. They are of the normal variety from parking lots.
- Hood has chips on the leading edge from highway driving. Since the hood is carbon fiber it had an gelcoat white primer which that makes these blemishes a bit more pronounced.
- There are about four scratches (one on spoiler, one on driver side pillar, one on right rear fender, and one on front fender) from someone trying to be helpful last winter and used a shovel to get snow of my car without me knowing.
- Wheels have a small amount of curb rash

Mechanical:
- I changed the springs back in 1999 and if I was to keep it I would put in a fresh set. They seem to soft lately for my taste.
- Rear defroster window metal tab just came off while I was cleaning window. They sell a conductive epoxy to fix this. The circuit for the defroster works just fine.

I was originally asking $8900 but because of all this I think it is reasonable to drop my price by $1000. Please email me with any questions.

I was asked about inspections.

The vehicle has been registered in Fairfax County since I bought it new in 1998. We are subject to safety inspections once a year and emission inspections every two years. Emissions in Fairfax County for the last some years have been OBDII (not dyno and sniffer) for vehicles model year 1996+.

I have always passed both safety and emissions inspections.

New Question: I was asked if I pay insurance prices as if it was a v6 OR do I pay as if it was GT or Cobra.

Answer: Right or wrong I've always paid insurance prices as if it was v6. Now being mid 30's I dont know if it is much of a difference but when I was in my 20's I know the difference between v6 insurance and GT insurance was significant.

I believe price may still be a bit high for the market so i'd like to drop it to $7000.

I'm sorry but please no more emails related to parting out. I would really like to sell this car as a whole.

Also no trades please. Please let me know if you have any quetions.
