2.3 turbo stang Q????

    i gotta friend whos swappin in a brand new T5 thats for a V8, is there anything that he needs special or different, besides bellhousings????

    I believe the input shafts are different for the 5.0 and 2.3 transmissions.

    Only the input shaft is different....it'll require a special Pilot bearing i the 2.3L that accepts the V8 input shaft. Everything else is basically the same except gearing in the tranny.

    yeah, you will need a custom Pilot bearing, i think rapido makes one. He will have a lower first gear though so it wont leap off the line like the 2.3 T5's do but it should hold up better and probably be a better set of gear ratios for a turbo setup

    He'll have to have the input shaft machined down to fit the smaller 2.3 pilot bearing. Use a 2.3 bell. Otherwise it works.
