$$ 2.3L Replacement Head $$

    Hello,
    I got a Winter Beater to drive for the winter so My Gt dosn't meet up with the ditch!

    I got a couple of Bad Ticks with the stock my Head along with 178k on it!!!
    Where can I get a New Head with the rockers and do a some what fast weekend swap!
    What's needed and How much should I expect to spend??

    Anyone have a good place I can shop from??
    Rebuilts are what I'm looking for.

    Why do you need a new head? Sounds more to me like you need a new cam and followers. You can get that from Northern Auto parts for $90 I think, and that could be replaced in a weekend.

    i agree, new cam and followers if the tick is that bad. Since it sounds like you just got it, i would try cheaper route if you havent done so already. Change the oil, put some sythetic oil in it, run it for a little bit and see if it changes. Some valve train noise is quite normal afterall.

    what is a good cam and follower that can be used in both turbo and N/A head? Should I look to replace my head because I am leading up to get a Turbo Block?

    Ok I'll try the sythetic oil first!
    Maybe it will haelp?
    After all It's Got 175k on it!!
