One of my uncles just bought one of these. Can anyone tell me anything special about this car?? I know it has a side exhaust but, is that the only thing that makes it different than a normal Cobra??? What are the first mods would you guys recommend?? Thanks in advance.
never heard of the cobra jet car..unless u mean your uncle bought a cobra jet 427 in 2002! we will see what these other guys say
You need to call your Uncle and confirm what kind of car he just got because there is no such thing as a 2002 Cobra Jet. U.M.
the first mod he should make, is to actually make the car...since it does not exist, although ford did build a cobra jet that was a concept car, it was either red and white or blue and white and was on the cover of some car mag a few years ago. is this the one??????????????
ok here is the skinny on it. It is a 2002 Mustang that was bought from Tasca Ford. It has the Cobra symbol on the fenders and says Cobra Jet on the hood scoop. It has custom Tasca seats, ground effect kit on it and the newer style Cragar SS on it. It also has a BBK cold air intake. All these items were put on by Tasca. Does anyone else know what Tasca does to these cars???
dude u need to run the VIN and find out,it might just be a GT with cobra badges all over it. i never heard of an 02 cobra either but i wanted to wait and see if everyone knew something that i didnt before i said so i know SVT always made concept cars out there.
It's a dealer trim package. Tasca has done that type of thing for years. Worth exactly as much as a 2002 GT. Or less if you don't like what they did.
Yup... sounds like your Uncle got taken for a ride.... ON A FOBRA! Sure hope he didn't pay too much because what he really has is a GT. U.M.
I hate to see dealerships do this, promoting a car to be more than what it truly is. There is a dealership around here that was putting Cobra logos on Thunderbirds back in 1996, but even that doesn't sound as bad as this is. If I were this guy's uncle, I'd be irate and be calling the state attorney general's office to issue a complaint because if this guy bought what he thought was a Cobra and it turns out to be just a GT, that is deceptive business practices.
Feel bad for him and all, but you gotta do your homework when it comes to these things. I'm sure he is not a mustang guy, as any mustang guy would have known that it was B.S. I would definately try to get the authorities involved and see about a refund.
I know nothing about this particular vehicle... however Tasca was the orignator of the first Cobra Jet mustangs in 1968. The sold Ford on the idea, and the rest is history. They also did many HiPo Fords over the years, what Yenko was to Chevy, Tasca was to Fords. They even built a Super MarkVIII in 1993 with a Roots supercharger that is now owned by Geno at www.lincolnmotorsports.com
