Ok guys - I have decided to start modding my 05 Saleen.

I plan on starting with the following perf mods but have a couple of issues:

1 - Saleen Series VI S/C @ approx 6 psi like this one
    http://www.saleen.com/supercharger.htm Saleen Supercharger

2 - Also a C&L Complete MAF System For 2005 MUSTANG GT liek this one
    http://www.cnlperformance.com/2005GT.html C & L CAI Kit

    here are my 2 problems

1 - Can anyone recommend someone other than Ford to do the install of the blower

2 - Even though the S/C comes with a new Saleen power flash - I am sure the with the C & L I will need to have a custom tune - I am not sure who to take it to or what type of tuner to use on it - I am pretty sure I will hve to take it to Ford and have the original Saleen tune erased and put back to a stock GT before I start and then take it to someone (maybe Dan and have a custom tune buuilt for it

Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated

    THANX

From all choices, the saleen blower is the worst performing blower you ever want to buy for your car...

I'm curious, being that this blower setup is a totally new designe system, what do you base your assumption that it would be the worse blower to use? I personally haven't seen any other screw type blowers available for the 2005 cars. Mind you I'm not asking your opinion on the former blowers used on the 2004 and older cars but on the NEW 2005 setup.

    Just a curiosity.

Yes that was in MM&FF last month or so. The 2005 saleen made 450rwhp and about the same torque (almost flat curve from 2000 to 6000rpm  ) which makes it a 525HP car :hail2:

The previous Saleen systems have certainly had some shortcomings but I have high hopes for the new blower, especially after seeing it at their open house the other week. I think it will prove to be very efficient and have a lot of potential. Intake charge temps are claimed to be down near 120 degrees F. The Series VI will be the same blower offered on the E car but fitted with a smaller pulley.

If I were in your position however, I would wait it out for a while to see how the blowers do on production cars and to see some third party testing. Also, unless you want to keep your car “all Saleen”, the new KB system should be a very nice option.

I wonder if the throttle body lands in a different position within the engine bay and if there might be any alignment issues with the C&L intake pipe.

I don’t know anyone out your way for installation. You could always come back to So Cal and have Chicane do the install. If you time it right, you could participate in the Huntington Beach Concours, June 5th. :D

I second that motion, Las Vegas is just a short 4 hour drive away (well, 3 and 1/2 the way I drive :D )

I can't believe I missed that article and I have subscriptions to MM&FF and 5.0. Which month was it in? I don't think anyone has had a chance to test the Saleen blower yet.

I really do want to keep the car "Saleen" if it makes sense - and am hoping to see some 3rd party testing soon but.... I am very impatient (probably why I have a non S/C 2005 already) I do think the throttly body moves slightly and will probably borrow a friends for a test fit prior to purchase. Also I really like the look of the new Saleen as well as new new intake style over the top with the inverted screw. I will have to think about another trip early June that actually may work out if Chicane has room their schedule - anyone know who would be the best persoin to talk to down there??

Joe is the only one you want to talk to at Chicane. Also, don't forget about Casey at Haney Motorsports. Case frequents the board here also. He is HMSPORT.

You can wait. I do know exactly what you are talking about though. I purchased 02-340 and N/A car with the specific purpose of waiting for the Series V twin screw AutoRotor. I sold the car a month before it was released.
I'm certain I would have caught an article in any of the mags re: the new blower for the 05 S/C cars. I have been watching like a hawk for it.
If you can hold out you will be happy. If the S/C performs anywhere near the new KB then you can almost add that value onto the top of your car when you sell it.

Wait awhile and look at your options. Local Bickford ford Mercury here in snohomish, Washington just got 5 Supercharger 05 Saleens in and sold 4 of them in one day. The supercharger its self is below the intake manifold which i thought was intersting. The blower pulley is HUGE( probly why tthe car only makes 4Lbs of boost) but still manages a 400Hp ( So Saleen Says). But the New supercharger is Obviosly more efficient than previous blowers.

It's one of the latest issue.
I saw it in the shelves and read the article about 2~3 weeks ago.

Thanks for the plug. We have just sold an 05' s/c to a local customer. I am waiting to here the dyno results.I have talked many times to the man ( I won't give his name) who is in charge of the engine room, which works on both the s/c S281 and the S7. He is very excited about the new blower. Alot of people are wondering why/how they get 400hp from only 5psi. He has explaned to me that using the larger 2300cc blower and the intake design allows for more volume and a straight shot down the intake port. They are testing the S281E right now. Basically the same setup, but with more boost, fuel and forged internals.
    p.s.
He claims that the new S7 twin turbo motor at only 5psi
made over 750hp...planning on turning up the boost to make over 1000hp!
