2010 GT500 Engine Mystery?

    How come during the unveiling the guy doing the reporting said that ford would not allow any engine shots of the new GT500? Has something changed that they are holding back?

    Naah, probably just the usual pre-production issues. There may be some parts on the engine that won't make production or parts that are not finished looking that they don't want to show.

    Heres something interesting I found on another forum, notice its for the new 2010 and it says 5.4L 4V DOHC EFI S/C ALUM V8 [IMG]

    Aluminum head and block? That would save some weight and really help the balance of the car. Too bad they're still 40k plus.

    Most people think that is just a typo. There is also speculation that there will be an aluminum block in the 2011 GT500. Who knows? Also rumors of a 5.0 4V aluminum block for 2011 that has wider bore spacing than the current mod V8s. Not sure if that will be used in the GT500 though. Wouldn't seem to make sense to lower the displacement from 5.4L but again, who knows? Wait for the press release...
