i have a weird question..on the 3g alt the voltage regulator is the same bolt up as the 75 A one in my car.
my question is. can you not just bolt the new regulator onto the old alt?
or would that over work the old alt?
or is the internals of the alt different enough between both that it wouldnt work.
I am trying to get hold of a repair shop here to see from a professional what they think, but its the week end and they arent open lol
just wondering if anyone has done this yet.
    thanks

The voltage regulator only does one thing (drumroll please): Regulate Voltage. That means, it has nothing to do with how big the alternator is...it just keeps it kicking out 13.5v or so all the time...or when it can keep up.

The internals are completely different...that's where the extra juice comes from.

You always look at pulling one from an XR4Ti. 90 amp stock Bosch.
