I put in my 3G alternator, including the stator wire where you cut the wire from the main harness and wire it to the alternator, then the main powercable to the starter solonoid. It is charging, but the AMP light on the dash stays on. What am I missing here, why is the idiot light on if it's charging? Ooops mean this to go in tech, sorry.
check the yellow wire coming off of the regulator plug ("D" shaped one). i believe that is the wire that supplies power for the AMP light.
I had the white wire, stator wire, going from the car to the stator, not from the main harness to the stator. I forgot, it is a loop because it is internally regulated. Amp light is off! Thanks... didn't catch it my first look at the diagram provided by TMOSS and Jrichker when I did the search.
That was gonna be what I was gonna say. First time I did one I had the same proble. I let the car sit for a couple days and it killed my battery. Gotta make sure when the car is off that 12v does not go to that single excitor wire on the alt. If there is 12v there then it drains the battery. Anyway, 3g is always an excellent upgrade and everything works better with one. You doing an electric cooling fan?
Glad that I'm not the only idiot! Yeah, I have the Black Magic on there. I did a bunch of stuff recently. A/C delete, P/S Delete, front bumper support, fog light support deleted, swaybar delete... lots of stuff! I think I'll make a thread about it soon.
