How much horsepower you think you could get out of a 4.0L without messing the engine up?

Well that depends. You can go up to 400RWHP with a good tune. Of course, you are severely shortening the lifespan of your engine. I'm thinking 300RWHP will last a little while and give you good power.

Does it matter how the power is made as far as engine life is concerned? For example, would an intercooled turbo will be easier on the engine than say an intercooled SC?

I am in the mid to high 300s for RWHP (need to get on a Dynojet for some SAE numbers). What kind of engine issues will I be looking at down the road?

I hear turbos are easier on an engine. But any time you make more horsepower you put more stress on the moving parts and you will shorten engine life. Especially with hypertectic pistons. The more hp you make, the more it stresses the engine. E13 I think you will be fine for a while, especially since you don't race much.
