4ALD ? and the 2.3

    will any other trans hook up to the 2.3 ? mine is slipping and leaking from the main seal.

    The C3 or T5 can be easily used behind the 2.3. Both require a longer driveshaft.

    Too easy!

    First thought is to recommend the T-5. However, once you have the tranny out it takes about 2 minutes to replace the seal. I have done an in and out seal change in about 1 1/2 hours.

    I'm under the impression the T5 does not require a different driveshaft.

    You will have to find and install the pedals if you go that route though.

    i have both in my back building and u do need a longer shaft for anything other than the a4ld

    Only the 5.0 guys can get away with keeping the same driveshaft when swapping from a slushbox to a manual tranny.

    Even the front yoke is different between the A4LD and the rest of the bunch.
