hello a few weeks ago and i came across a problem with my cobra the engine is shifted to the left! can anyone tell me what some problems could be?
are you sure because its just it looks like the engine will hit the side of the car when i start it? the pass side!
If my memory serves me well, the engine is offset slightly to the passenger's side. This is a problem most II owner's run into when they try to make a hoodscoop functional. However that said, your engine should not hit the passenger frame rail when you start it up. If it does, then check your motor mounts. david
could it be a tranny mount? i just redid both motor mounts someone was telling me it could be tranny mount but i thought i would ask someone else first?
The 'sides' of the car are determined from sitting in the operators seat. Just so you know. Take a tape measure/ruler and measure from the frames to the dampener. The engine should be ~ 1 1/8 inches closer to the right frame than the left. If the trans mount were far off enough to make the manifold hit the frame rale the engine would be noticeably cocked in the frame.
