76 cabra 2 need help

    hello a few weeks ago and i came across a problem with my cobra the engine is shifted to the left! can anyone tell me what some problems could be?

    i would say from 1 - 3 inchs!

    That's the way they were manufactured so it is normal... don't worry about it.

    are you sure because its just it looks like the engine will hit the side of the car when i start it? the pass side!

    If my memory serves me well, the engine is offset slightly to the passenger's side. This is a problem most II owner's run into when they try to make a hoodscoop functional. However that said, your engine should not hit the passenger frame rail when you start it up. If it does, then check your motor mounts.

    could it be a tranny mount? i just redid both motor mounts someone was telling me it could be tranny mount but i thought i would ask someone else first?

    The 'sides' of the car are determined from sitting in the operators seat. Just so you know.

    Take a tape measure/ruler and measure from the frames to the dampener. The engine should be ~ 1 1/8 inches closer to the right frame than the left.

    If the trans mount were far off enough to make the manifold hit the frame rale the engine would be noticeably cocked in the frame.

    trans mount

    ok well i just got done and its about 4 inchs closer to the right side?

    is there anywere i can find a new trunk lid? the one i have the wing wont stay on to much rust!

    Sounds like you reversed the motor mounts, or broke one.
