Does anyone know the flange to flange distance on an SN 95 Mustang's 8.8? I want to do a swap into my 65 and have posi, disc brakes and a strong replacement for the 8" all in one shot. What about the 94 and up T-birds?
I have a fox mustang r/e in the garage and it is 59 5/8 inches, give or take 1/8. It is going in my '67. I believe the sn95 is about 2in longer same with the tbird, but don't quote me on that. Lengths are hard to find on the web for these. All I ever see is this one is this much longer than that one.
ewwww dont use T-bird. I hear theyre super weak. Go with at least a stang or do what Im doing and get an explorer rear. Comes with POSI and it is cheap.
here's what I'm thinking: I get an explorer rear, complete with brakes, 3.73, posi and all. Then, purchase another right axle and have the housing shortened to match the axle. From the looks of things so far, that looks like it will work peachy. Any thoughts?
Thats what I am doing. Already have my rear end. disc brakes and a 3.73 geared POSI. Cant beat the 150 dollar pricetag also. Im gonna be calling up strange to see what they can do for my shortening.
