did they make an 86 v8 coupe and how many iv always thought they did but had one guy tell me they didnt just wanted to get a few other opinions
Me likey 4-eyed coupes FWIW, there has been a V8 Mustang coupe available every year that the Mustang has existed, except for 1974.
...up until 1993. From the SN95's on up, they were all either coupes (no notchback available) or 'verts. I wonder what a notchback S197 would look like...?
I've owned two 86 5.0 coupes. One was an SSP. Here are a few pics: My old 86 SSP My current 86 LX 5.0~ Dark Clove Brown Metallic (1 of 24) My cousin's 86 LX 5.0 Cool factory photo Another one (member of Foureyedpride.com)
Therefore, there has been a V8 coupe available every year they just got rid of the hatchback body style with the 1994 redesign, leaving only the coupe as we have grown to know it today. in essence, every non convertible since 1994 has been a notchback, though its not 100% true to the term.
Thanks! I was young and stupid! That was my favorite out of all the cars I've owned. I sold it to a friend and he had it stolen for the insurance money! Makes me sick to think about it. I bought that car when I was 19 and had it for six years. Wish I had it now...
Shoot! Im really sorry to hear that! I bought my first '88 when I was 15 and it was one of those freakishly really fast 5.0's and I sold it when I was 16. I regret that every day. Love the GT I have now, but its just not that 88
When most Mustang guys see "coupe" in reference to a Mustang, they usually assume you're talking about the notchbacks. The '94+ Mustangs are not notchbacks, they are simply coupes, as they do not have the abrupt drop-off after the end of the roofline leading down to the trunk. By that same definition, the Fox and MN12 Thunderbirds were coupes, but the Cougars were notchbacks. The Fox notchbacks were actually quite often classified as a two-door SEDAN, and the hatchbacks are oftentimes instead referred to as coupes. It varies from person to person and from source to source. Toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe ... whatever.
my first 1 my first mustang was a 86 coupe. it had a stock motor with just pulleys, 3:73 5 speed car with a pro 5.0 shifter and a drive shaft it can a 13.40 @ 106. it did not have sub frame con on it and the cars floor broke. i had to add sub frame con to it we put it in the air till the doors would close and i sold it
