It's doable but why? Is the SVO wrecked? The clip will work on there but like you mentioned, a hood compatible with the 87-93 clip has to go on along with the headlights and you would have to wire the headlights from the lamp style to the 87-93 style. It's not that hard, you just have to know wires.

84/85 had the flush ones and 86 had the recessed one right?

    Other way around...

'84-85 had recessed (sealed beam) headlights, '86 had the flush (halogen) lights.

I would just get a repop SVO nose, and a fiberglass SVO hood.
    Bam done.
Not a bastardized SVO/aero conversion, and it eliminates the wiring and such.
I would say good job on saving an SVO from being Parted, but I would definatley put an SVO nose back on it asap.

Don't let the SVO folks know you are doing this!

If possible, I would keep it SVO. The body is the least of the issues. The different suspension, wheels, etc, have kept me away from them so far. Otherwise, the 4 cyl turbo idea is growing on me.

Yeah uh I swapped my front and rear clip to a 87+ GT on my SVO (pissed off the local street racers with my hidden pipe and odd hood scoop, I used a 79 turbo scoop and opened the front up to make it functional). Didn't think anything of it when I did it. Gave away my hood, front, rear, lights.. everything.. the locals didn't like the looks of the SVO because Gt's were the hot ticket and no one was aware what one was.. even I wasn't which is why I did the swap) and had to cut in an intercooler hole in the new hood (this was back in 91) kicked myself in the ass for the last 10 years for doing that.
