this topic i so debated. From what I have heard no one really knows. BUt the consensus seems to think around 700-800 made. Not worth too much more either
Have no idea but my two cents........I hate the t-tops on my 86........why do I have to spend 500 bucks for a weatherstripping kit??????????????
Asking how much your car is worth is not allowed. http://forums.stangnet.com/753694-reminder-no-sales-regular-discussion-forums.html The reason is that alot of people post threads asking how much their car is worth but they're actually intending it as a for sale ad. It's a sneaky way to advertise their car. I am not accusing you of this, I'm just letting you know. While I agree with this statement and despise T-Top weatherstripping....it all makes sense on those long cruises with the tops out.
I hate the t-top mustangs as well I no they are rare. I'd much rather like to cruise in a nice lx with the sunroof pulled out seeing as they have a huge sunroof I know my 87 and 89 lx hatch did.
ill suck it up and deal with the leak chasing and then REALLY enjoy those cool summer nights with the tops out. that was the thing i liked most about my 85 GT
haha yea I wondered the same thing after I did mine. because I only drive the car in nice weather and when its nice I have the tops off lol.
Most of us who care enough to spend 500$ on weather stripping actually avoid nasty weather, so aside from a few drips when I wash it, it is not a big deal, and probably won't get replaced for a long time. Its kind of ironic that way. Whats with all the T-Top haters in here?
i own an 87 and 88 and both are t-tops but i am only restoring the 87 and i love them .the best looking fox by far with or without the t-tops on.
If i had room id hunt me down a 87 or 88 t top. theres one a town over from me, needs paint and some body work but from what i can tell it hasnt moved in at least two months.
sure i dont drive it in the rain but i cant even wash my car without it getting wet. i tore out the head liner because it was warped from the leaks inside.
late model restorationhas the whole kit for the t-tops for $229.95 its worth every pennie and the catalog is free i love my car very much every one looks at you when your driving it cause there are not many and its not for sale was just curious thank you
+1 There's a listing for an '83 T-top 5-speed GT locally for like $700, just needs paint and little things. I hate being poor. T-tops > 'verts.
FYI, I didn't BUY the '84 - I traded a dude teh Pervertible for it. No money changed hands, just titles. It's kind of a mechanical attention whore at the moment, and I'm not wild about the 155-horse CFI motor, but I still think I came out on top of the deal: Hardtop + AOD w/shift kit + 84k original miles + almost-no-options LX hatch VERSUS Rotted-out 'vert top with no rear window + stock AOD + 198k miles + heavy-arsed 'vert chassis with power windows and locks I wonder if the dude with the '83 T-top would be interested in trading for a not-quite-cherry '86 GMC S-15...?
