I just bought a GT vert but it is running very bad. It is the first Ford I have ever owned. It will only reach about 4000 RPM when you got it to the floor in any gear. It is almost like it is tied to something heavy on the rear bumper. Please help make this experience a good one. I am very excited but I have my doubts. First time user on stangnet.

Hi Smoothie, looks like you're in the wrong forum, this is for the 2005-2007 stangs. You may want to repost over there if you haven't already.

Wait, is this an 05+ GT or a 95 GT? Because your topic and question doesn't make it very clear.

First thing you should do is a tune up.

Oil, filter, oil/fuel filter, flush the radiator, distributor cover, spark plugs, wires, etc.

Then you want to clean your MAF and IAC. Thats Mass Air Flow and Idle Air Control. Searching the tech forum on these procedures will net results, both have been covered in depth.

Cleaning my MAF definately allowed me to rev easier.

You might also look into an MSD Blaster 2 ignition coil, which will also help.

    Adam
