I've got a 96 cobra with a vortech supercharger. Currently it is getting the engine rebuilt and will be putting out at least 550 rwhp. Some kid at school wants to race me, his friends and him thinks his 2002 ZO6 will smoke me, but i think my car will easily beat him. Anyone have any experience racing a ZO6 and do you guys think I should race him.

Need more information. Is the ZO6 stock? What are the parameters of the race? Dig? Roll?

Run him at the track and video it.

I'm pretty sure his car is stock with maybe some exhaust upgrades but i'm not sure. the race would probably be on the street from a dead stop.

As previously mentioned, find out his modifications. Furthermore, try and reduce the weight in your car, because we all know the Z06 is one of the lightest cars on the market - bar none! :)

I just talked to my friend and the only thing he has done is exhaust cutouts.

Pretty nice school where a kid is driving a Z06. You should be able to smoke him, presuming that you have good rubber to handle the power and know how to drive. Speaking of which, what are you doing to make 130 RWHP more than me?

That was another question i was gonna ask which tires are the best, i was looking at the goodyear gs-d3. The whole engine is being rebulit, new cams, port out the cylinder heads, JE pistons, carillo rods, valves, everything is getting changed.

BFG's Drag Radials, presuming that you can afford new tires every 5000 miles. Nitto DR's are also good, and have the added bonus of selling a non-DR tire with the same tread pattern as the back.

I was thinking of drag radials but this is my everyday car, and where i live we get a fair amount of rain during the winter.

:Track: from a dig, MT ET dr's, 4.10's, and you'll embarass him if he just has exhaust. Hell, you should embarass him anyway but top speed or twisties

You will smoke him with 550RWHP. I smoked one at Milan Dragway with 414RWHP, Nitto drag radials, launching at idle!!!!! I pulled a 1.9 60ft, and ran 12.66@111MPH. That isn't even my best time. And yes it was the 405HP ZO6. If I grew a pair, I would launch it on E/T streets and run 11's. Everybody else in the 11's that night was only turning 109-111MPH. My highest MPH are in sig.

LOL, we both drive about the same. My best on Nitto dr's is 12.3 @117 w/ a crappy 2.0 short time.

116mph and 117mph are wicked speeds for our cars....we will turn 11.5-11.7 with slicks....I know it...I just am not that into it like I used to be. In 2004, I was really into my Cobra, but know I got the 2 other cars too.
