Heres my problem, my 97 cobra has been making a chattering noise for awhile now. Well after getting it tore apart, I found out that it spun the #7 bearing and needs a crank, 2 connecting rods, new bearings, and header gaskets. The thing was, that it never really lost any power. How could this be? Does anyone around Indiana know where I can get these components at a decent price? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure the crank is toast? That is probably the finest component of these engines, capable of supporting some serious HP. I would think the block and/or a piston would let go before the crank.

The guy thats working on it told me that the crank had been wobbling around causing it to wear on the back end of it.

Damn that sucks big time. I dunno anyone near the indiana area but when I hydrolocked my stock 97 Cobra motor I had MMR build me a high compression shortblock, had the heads re-worked(to stock specs) and had the old motor pulled and new one installed all for $500 less than what Ford wanted to charge for a stock motor and rip off all my mods while I was at it. Once the motor is toast, no looking back. It's gonna cost a lot....but better do it right!
