hey guys/gals! i need your help here on this. i figured i would go straight to the Cobra owners for their advise. I work at Ford and I can get a great deal on a 98 Cobra. its white, and completely stock w/ 32K miles on it. Should I trade my 00GT in for this Cobra?? The Cobra is in great shape and drove like a champ  Overall, will it be worth it to get the 98 Cobra?? I really love the Cobra and Im thinking that I will trade in tomorrow :) just wanted to see what yall thought!
    Thanks!!!

Well your Gt will run with the cobra,..so for speed wise I would say their about the same. I would get the cobra, I mean it might be a little faster. But it is a cobra and it has low miles. Also I'm assuming it's 5-spd = more fun than auto. So I guess I'm saying YES DO IT!

Go Cobra. I have driven an '00 GT with nearly the same mods that are on my Cobra, and there is a huge difference IMO. Down low, it is pretty close, but as soon as you get into the powerband of the Cobra, and your IMRC's Open up, it is a whole different animal.

    what the.

:bs: no way ,the money you will lose on trading it in is what you can spend on a blower for the GT.
    this is :bs:
but if you like it then go trade it, (just remember, cobras are run pretty hard).

I would trade it if it had a blower on it.

The cobra will hold its value much better than the GT in the long run. The 4v's tend to really wake up with minor bolt-ons and respond really well to blowers and nitrous.

I would trade the GT in a heartbeat. My father has a 2002 GT vert, automatic and if I had to choose between his and mine, I would pick the cobra every day of the week.

what do stock 98 Cobras usually run in the 1/4 mile? I really wouldnt be losing any money on this deal. I can get the Cobra for 11.5K since i am a Ford employee, and i was thinking of selling my car for 11.5K if I could (privately). that way it would just be basically an even trade.

With bolt-on's, and I don't have headers yet I am running 13.3 @ 105 MPH. So the 98 cobra is pretty easy to get in the low 13's. I will list my mods below.

One thing you have to remember is that your modded GT is now just as fast as a stock Cobra...but if you compare both cars modded the same, the Cobra will be much faster. You just have so much more potential with the 4V engine.
