how does everyone's a/c work? when i am sitting in traffic, the a/c barely cools the car unless it is set on max a/c or recirc. with the fresh air vent, the air coming in is pretty warm. the temp today was about 90. is everyone else's a/c like this? maybe mine needs some more gas?

Maybe it's because you have all that cool stuff for your car and I don't

I live in South Mississippi and it is hot here. If you mix 90 Deg. Air with 45 deg. air it is going to fill warm, I think that is normal, I keep mine on Max. or I get the same thing.

I am in mid 90's heat and have no problems. When its been sitting in the sun, I crack the windows a bit and turn to max. Cools really fast.

Mine has the same problem. I think it is the R134. It just doesnt cool like the old R12. The vehicle needs to be moving to cool like it should. When running down the hwy at 70 mph, I have to turn the fan to low.

The refrigerant type doesnt matter. your car has to be moving when its so warm like that to maintain a reasonable head pressure for the refrigerant through the condenser. The fan is okay, but the hot radiator is also the making it harder. When the car moves, the air through the condenser lowers head temp to about 110 deg. and the evaporating temp to about 40 deg. which translates to a max of about 50 deg. discharge air. But, anyway the refrigerant doesnt matter. Dont mean to sound like the 300bhp/ton guy. But ive made my million in refrigeration.

Same here I am impressed with how quickly it cools off inside after sitting in the sun all day. :nice:

when i first drove my car in 95 degree heat i was wondering what was up with the A/C as well, but at the time i was not moving. Other than that one experience the A/C is great. It get's so cold sometimes i have to open the window to let the heat in!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same sense that the A/C does not cool as well as it should. Now, I'm comparing the 05 Stang cooling capacity to my 2001 Audi A4 and my wife's 2003 Honda Pilot. Both offer superior cooling capabilities. Now, that can be due to vent design and aiflow - for example if the Stang's cooling ducts are higher up in the dash they are more likely to heat and reheat due to the sun on the dash.

The only issue I have is when I turn the AC/Heat what ever to Foot only, it still comes out the Foot/Defogger. When I put it on the Foot/Defogger, it comes out the Foot/Defogger :)

I'm not sure if that's just how it is, or if there is a duct issue or something.

Turning the thing off, then on again doesn't help.
