Can someone answer a few questions for me? Some of them are a little odd, but here they are. These questions are being asked about a 2001 Mustang Base

    1. What is the gear ratio in 1st gear? Is it 3.37:1?
    2. What is the rear end ratio? 3.27:1?
    3. What is the starter motor/flywheel gear ratio (tooth count)?
    4. What is the starter motor torque?

    Thanks for you help!

What are you trying to build, a redneck hybrid?

    Starter-assisted 1/4 mi?

    1st gear- 3.35:1
    rear end- 2.73:1
flywheel tooth count- as many as are needed to go around the flywheel
starter torque- enough to turn the engine over

The 99-04 used a 3.27 final drive ratio, with a 3.35 first gear and 1.99, 1.33, 1.00, 0.68 gear ratios. I can't find the tooth count on the flywheel but I am thinking 154 for some reason. And remember that 01 was the first year for zero balanced engines so 99-00 flywheels won't work because they have weights on them. This was also the year that the IAC sensor was incorperated into the maf sensor. you can find this out by seeing 6 wires coming out of the maf instead of four. Not counting the lack of a iac sensor.
