How about we work up an imaginary plan for your Stang
    but
NOT as it is now ... When it was stock

You get a chance to do it over again without mistakes
    or
If you are still stock  Just share your plan with the rest of us

Here are the guidelines and objectives :D

The time fame is for 1 year
    and
The budget is 6 grand ... no more
    but
You have only 500 to work with each month

    Would you start with:
    Appearance
    More Power
    Better Handling

Which of the above three categories would be your priority

Briefly ... lay out your plan for everybody which includes:
the order in which you did the mods and why
the approximate cost of each project along the way

    and finally ................

What your Stang is gonna be ... One Year From Now

    trickflow hci - 2200$
supporting stuff for it - 800$
    exhaust - 800$
    gears - 450$
    torq thrust 2's + tires - 1500$ ?
    clutch - 200$

I would save up and do most of it at once (the hci)
id do the gears first though
    then next month the clutch
    then exhaust
then save for the hci + supporting and do that
    then the tires/wheels last

    Edit:
I am beginning install of TF HCI today :D

It would whip that weak @$$ combo you posted above. :D

I'll edit this post later with a REAL plan for a Mustang.

    Wes

EDIT: Here's how I'd do it.

Ain't it funny how you can look at this from either way ... and go and say

"WOW ... $500 a month for a whole year"
    or
    "$6000 bucks"

I can make my Stang F L Y with all that money

Then you put a cost to all you wanna do
    and
You then have to go and say ... "That stuff is kinda spendy" :rlaugh:

Now who is gonna come up with a really good plan and stay within the rules?

Hey ... maybe we can vote for a winner :Teh-Win:

    Sure ... Why Not

The winner will get an official 94-95 :SNSign: Atta-Boy

My priority would be to make it a car I want to be in.

I'd start with maintenance items and road-worthiness.
Guess about $1000, depending on what needs to be fixed.
2 months gone, $5000 left to save up and spend

Then I'd fix up the interior with new leather on the seats and a good stereo system
Guess about $800 for the seats, another $500 for the stereo
3 more months gone, $3700 left to save up and spend

By now, I'd be happy sitting in it, but not very happy when I press the GO pedal.

    Next would be a heads/cam/intake/throttle body/maf upgrade.
I'd get the big parts lightly used off the Corral classifieds, the rest from Summit.
I'd be looking for a Comp XE-262 or 274 cam, either AFR or Trick FLow heads, and either a RPM II or a SysteMax intake.
Guess about $2500 for the parts, another $500 for the install.
5 more months gone, $700 left to save up and spend

I wouldn't have enough left for wheels and tires, so I guess I'd lower it, and get 3.73 gears
    Guess about $700
    $0 left

If I kept saving, 2 more months and I'd get rims and tires off ebay for $1000.

What my Stang is gonna be ... One Year From Now?

Motor/Tranny combo in sig (almost done!)
New carpet and sound deadening (dynamat) laid down
    New leather on the seats
    New stereo/GPS/entertainment system installed
New black paint with silver metallic specks
    17x9 17x10.5 deep dish FR500s with Toyo T1-R 255 and 315 tires

It is probably gonna run me more like $15000, not $6000.

    I ain't either Paul :nono:

Here is the deal :Word: ... but ... Don't tell the others :ZipIt:

I thought a thread like this might help some to see a bit of reality

    as opposed to

How can I do this or that to obtain block splitting power ......
    without splitting the block
without regards to the rest of the drive train
    without a tune
    and
    all for $1995.00

As much as a lot of us hate to admit it :bang:

We've made plenty of mistakes and that qualifies us to be able to ........
help others not hose up like we did :D

In these posts, I've noticed that NO ONE has even thought about STOPPING their "freshly hot rodded" Mustang! :jaw:

For a car that is notoriously "not very good at stopping", it would make sense to improve the weak points, before improving the strong points. ;)

Month 1: Amp/speakers (Cause I can go a long way in a "bone stock" anything, with good tunes!)
    Month 2-5: Cobra front brakes/17" rolling stock/Eibach Pro's/Tokico's
    Month 6: Cat-back/h-pipe
Month 7-11: H/C/I and supporting mods.
    Month 12: Tune

    I currently have the tunes.
The brakes are in the basement. Waiting for $$$ for tires for the Bullitts. (Wanna buy my Ruger P89?) KYB's waiting for a fellow Stangenetter to send me the Pro's. ;)
Cat back/off-road h/BBK's waiting for me to get off my a$$. ;)
Heavily ported GT-40 heads/ported Explorer intake, waiting for "winter slumber".
Plan to use LaSota Racing for a chip.

Prolly next Spring, it will hit the street with all the mods that I require, for now. I will most certainly NOT have $6K in the mods.

Grady, I ran out of money before I got to the wheels, brakes and exhaust.

And another thing ... where's your plan?

so you are doing that under $6000? :nice:

yep, your choice, just tell us what you would do and how you would go about it.

then tell us where your car will be in a year.
