Ok I have a late 90's mustang cobra in my garage that I towed for a guy who let it sit unregestered and unplated for over two years! When I went to move this car i had to air all four of the ties up, and tow it. Then i started working on it at his request. Logging everything I did by the hours(his request). The deal was i was going to store and rebuild his car. He inlisted. And told me he would leave me a big chunk of cash for storage and the rest needed to rebuild and some for me. Well he blew me off and it has now been about 5 months since I have had the car in my nice heated garage. He avoided me untill he left and has not reponded to any email or voicemails that I leave him. He didnt care about the car when it was sitting for two years.(by the way the apartment complex the car was just sitting in wasnt his residence). I am still charging him storage for everyday the car sits in my garage, so at this point if he did ever come back looking for his car he wouldnt have the cash to pay me anyways. But I dought I will ever see him again. Thats the kind of guy he is. I checked the vin and the car is fully paid off in case that is why he didnt regester it. What is my next step? The car has very low miles on it. I do not want to strip it down.

in ohio you would put a mechanics lien on the car, and after a period of time you can go through the state, and get a title... your state may be different, i would check with some of the local repair shops...

Contact the Colorado state department of licensing. They'll be able to tell you how to proceed.
