The clutch pedal in my Mustang has a very long travel, sits very high (compared to the brake) and is super easy to press. I have a stage 3 clutch and pressure plate. I was wondering if anyone has moved the clutch pivot point so the lever's ratios were increased on the clutch cable end. If done properly this would give the cable the same movement with less clutch pedal travel and a firmer feel. I haven't felt like climbing under the dash again to see how possible this is yet but was wondering if anyone else with a manual transmission had done anything about this. I know some Pinto guys have done a hydraulic conversion, it should be similar in our cars being that we have the same type of straight action clutch cable setup, though with different pedal assemblies and such. I'm just sick of hitting my knee on my chin when I shift.
I've played with the adjustment, which has felt much better, but also resulted in a short throw out bearing life. In fact I took a day off Monday for the purpose of swapping one out. I would love to learn how to get some movement out of the pedal too! Dave
