Is there any aftermarket fans out there for a 96 GT? I can't seem to find any. Also is the Ford OEM an imported piece because I'm done this crappy quality. My fan I have now is only 6 months old but because I had to get it right away I had to settle for the Taiwanese crap and it is fubared already.
Try a Cobra fan. I bought a used one on e-bay for $75. Not too bad and it's rated for a hotter engine. The 96 cooling system was weak. I think there was a TSB for it if people complained about overheating. The 98 has a better cooling system (better fan, bigger radiator, etc) which is also a good idea if you can find one.
The 96 has crap cooling, alot were upgraded to 97 spec from Ford for free if you complained while under warranty (fan/shroud/rad) which were better. Try and find the 97-98 fan setup as its much better.
The fan have has actually helped a ton in cooling it down. It's just the quality sucked. I took it out yesterday and wrapped electrical tape around the connector to hold it firm and hope it lasts a little while. I'd just prefer to find a quality piece that isn't made buy Won Hung Low in China.
