So, I now have "332" on my bumper, thanks Mark PAS, and I have my plaque for my shifter console "89-332" thanks Liz!

I know feel like I have a real Saleen with all of the badges and markings. I'll probably drive it for the rest of the summer and rack up all kinds of miles with the top down. Then send it to the paint booth for a winter tear down.

We were getting a little worrried about you maybe thinking you were going to sell??? Keep it. I know it's not as fast as your GN, but you know you get more attention in it. That little 302 has a lot of potential. Go for it!

Oh yea, before I forget. One more bump for Mark at PAS. Recieved my order from him the other day, on time and packaged nicely so nothing got damaged. Always a pleasure working with Mark. When I sold one of my Saleens a few years back, the buyer located my car from his site and the buyer just happened to be here in So. Cal.
    Thanks again Mark.

So what your saying is your taking a regular mustang and making a fake saleen and you even went as far as making a console badge? WOW!
Are you going to tell people it is a real one too?

No, actually I think his car is a real Saleen, it was just missing the bumper and plaque or the originals were faded/damaged.

I'm pretty sure Saleen won't release an authentic dash plaque without owner info/VIN for the vehicle.

SORRY, I meant to quote Quazimodo

No. His car is legit. I saw it here in California before he bought it. It was a little neglected and he has been dilligently putting it back together. It takes an act of congress to secure a real "console" plaque or "engine" bay plaque from Liz. It also takes around a year. Patience is a virtue. :D

I think you misinterpreted my post. Just as Marcus pointed out this Saleen has been neglected and I've been bringing it back to it's glory. The bumper cover was repainted, most likely due to rock chips, and it was missing the bumper number. The shifter plaque was severly faded, probably because this is a convertible, and Liz with Saleen was able to verify my VIN ad me to the registry as the current owner and she sent me the plaque at no charge.

I was extremely impressed with her customer service and her ability to turn this around so quickly. Hope this clears up my post, most of the regulars here have been following the progress of the rebuild.

Not sure what the cost was and it looks like the original. See my phone chronicle post for a picture of it.

Saleen charges $100.00. The replacement I ordered a few years ago is identical to my original.

OHHH. Thats cool. When I read that with the badges it feels like a real one.It also sounded like a aftermarket co. made the plaque. My bad. I had saleen make me another console plaque a few years ago when I converted to a auto. I did'nt want to peel the plaque off the 5 speed console. It looks just like the original. And yea I had to give my vin#.

They make them but they are pricey and you have to wait until they get enough orders to produce them. Liz can give you the datails.

Thanks for the info..... I still have all original parts on my car... parts of me wants to pull the engine and stroke it to 331... I am going to get a GT40 intake for her soon!!! Some of the Saleens did have them so it will not be that far away from a stock saleen...
