It depends on the cold air kit. Most need a tune.
Throw the throttle body spacer away. What do you think that will do for you?
Its just a worthless piece of junk.

really? i've heard some good stuff about them?? i only paid 170 for the cai and the plate anyway so what could it hurt.. i learned the cai has an insert on the filter side that allows a little less air to enter but more than stock so i'm thinkin it will run stock tune until i get my tuner.. lol i guess ill figure it out tonight when i put it on!

Nobody is telling you good stuff about them on these S197 cars - or they are clueless.

The tb spacer won't hurt but don't expect to feel power from it. I haven't seen tests for our cars but Horsepower TV did a show on fuel economy while adding HP and they used a spacer. Helped save a couple of MPG's. The car was an older, early '90's camaro though. Don't know if it would compare.

It doesn't compare at all. It's heavily documented via graphs that the TB spacers do zero for the S197.. doesn't improve driveability, gain fuel conservation, produce power, nuthin.

While were at it, let's be sure and let the guy know the aftermarket throttle body's are also a royal pain in the arse..

TB spacers don't WORK for ANY car unless it's got a carb sitting on top of the intake manifold.

It's going to make your car slower because of the added weight ...
