Is there a good cam for an all motor build ? I see cams for FI motors, just wonder if there's a good cam out there for us all motor guys. Are some brands better than others as far as results? Thanks in advance!!!

I have bbr stage II cams installed. It gave me 60 hp, and I lost a pound of boost on my roush supercharger. I like it. The only issue I have had is tunning for big cams. It has taken awhile to tune it, and it still is not perfect. The issue for me is when it is cold, it wants to really bog down on takeoff, and to correct it, the tunners gave it more fuel until it warms up. So, for about two minutes, it hesitates at low RPM's. Its just a matter of spending more time on the tunning and doing some dataloging. If I get the heads done and build the motor, I am sure that would help with the issue. Here is a link to the cams I have.

Thanks for the info, I wonder how it would work without a SC, I think I want to stay all motor and am wondering what the best cam choice would be.

According to Brenspeed, the Comp Stg 3 cams have gained about 25 - 26 RWHP in a N/A car. The car started at 309 RWHP and just adding the Comp Stg 3 cam, it went up to 335 RWHP. Adding some other parts and tuning, they got the car to 347 RWHP N/A.

Sorry, 60 HP from Stage II cams alone is not believable.
    No way no how!
You obviously changed something else with your engine because cams alone aint givin ya that HP.
most Stage III cam installs are yielding 20 - 25 HP on NA cars if tuned correctly

I got 23hp, and about 3/10s at the track with Comp Stage III cams. Lost torque though. I love the feel as I'm approaching the quarter mile marker and that mid range starts kicking in hard though...the sound ain't bad either (see http://media.putfile.com/Comp-Stage-3-cams )

On a Supercharged car, why wouldn't cams give it 60 HP? For a SC'd car, 60 HP is believable for a set of cams. The car that claimed that is SC'd.

I have the before cam and after cam dyno sheets. That was the only thing that changed on the motor. The tune on the computer changed also. So, I guess you are partly correct in that the tune changed from a stock Roush canned tune to a custom tune, which I am sure helped gain more HP. How much more? I guess what I should have done is had them run the same tune on the before and after install but the car would barely run after they were installed, and thus needed adjustment just to idle. Cams add HP. How much?
