well let me start, i have a 93 2.3 that the motor died in, i put a carbed 2.3 from an 85 mustang in it. got it up and running but it wont charge. motor came from running car, i purchased the whole thing for the swap so i know. there are 3 wires on the back of the altenator, one is black/orange heavy gauge, which is battery, the other goes to the carb., now there is a orange/blue wire that i do not know where it goes, have hooked it up to everything with no luck. checked my haynes and chiltons books but are of no help. so does anybody know where this wire goes or why it wont charge?

    won't charge

I have the same problem; won't charge. The orange and blue goes to the alternator regulator but still not charging. I'm not driving it yet so I keep it on the charger and just fire it up to listen to the pipes every couple of days. I put up a funny vid on Utube called "startup1". Need a laugh, check it out.
