What car do yall think i should get i plan on building an american iron car and competitively race it by the time im 26 which is 6 years and be in american iron by 28. I was thinking about getting a 94-95 because 5.0's are cheap. and then i was thinking about 96-98 because the teksid 4v block is aluminum. And then I was thinking that foxbodies are lighter all together but i heard they are not as stiff plus i think i want the newer body style.

    What do yall think?

Personally if I were wanting to build an AI or AIX car, I would start with a 94-95 V6 coupe in good shape. If you're gonna build a real race car, you'll keep very little of what differentiates a V6 from a GT...the motor, suspension, rearend, axles, tranny, etc, etc... This way you can buy the car cheap, gut everything out of it to a shell, then build it from scratch, the right way, starting with a clean slate.

yeah what Dan said. even if you get a 96-98 4v you'll still need to beef up that engine so why not start from scratch with a 5.0. check out agent47.com they got some amazing stuff for AI/AIX racing
